How to vape

If you’re replacing smoking cigarettes then this simple technique is the best way to vape properly.

Slowly draw the vapor into your mouth for a few seconds and then hold the vapor in your closed mouth.

Open your mouth and breathe in the vapor to your lungs…Exhale.

How the vape market has grown since its beginning

Hon Like, a Chinese pharmacist, is credited with inventing the electronic cigarette in 2003. It wasn’t until 2010, however, that the market started to really take off with the development of cig-a –likes, the first generation of e-cigarettes designed to mimic traditional cigarettes. By 2011, the market shift towards open systems of vape pens and bottled liquids catapulted vaping from niche to mainstream recognition.

In 2011 there were 7 million vapers globally. By 2020, this had increased exponentially to over 70 million.

How do the costs of vaping compare to the costs of smoking?

Switching from smoking to vaping equates to a staggering saving of money. In the UK, where tobacco taxes are high, vaping will save the average smoker £3500.00 per year. Put into context, the entire cost of a family holiday.

Mouth to lung vs Direct to lung vaping

There is no right or wrong choice in which method to use. It’s all about finding the perfect vape for your individual needs. Mouth to lung works better with higher PG and nicotine levels whereas direct to lung works for lower nicotine, higher VG liquids. It is very much a trial and error situation so why not try both and see which you find the most satisfying.

Guide to E Liquids

The best eliquid is simply the one you enjoy the most. In the UK alone there are hundreds of thousands of available flavours from thousands of different suppliers. The longer established brands have developed a consistent quality but at the end of the day it’s all subjective.

Is it safe to mix e liquids?

It’s perfectly safe to mix eliquids, however, it’s best to mix liquids from the same supplier as the base mixture will be similar if not identical. If you mix liquids from different suppliers, you run the risk of the two liquids fighting each other and you not enjoy the ensuing flavour profile.

What do e liquids contain?

E liquids are made up from relatively few ingredients: Propylene Glycol (PG), Vegetable Glycerin (VG), water, flavourings and nicotine. Nicotine containing E liquids are typically PG dominant whilst zero nicotine liquids are often VG dominant.

What should you avoid in an e liquid?

Diacetyl is an additive used for buttery or creamy flavoring used in some food products as well as e-liquids.

In the 1990’s, diacetyl made headlines after it was discovered that workers who had worked in a popcorn factory contracted bronchiolitis after inhaling high amounts of diacetyl for a long period of time. Bronchiolitis is popularly referred to as “popcorn lung.” Tests have revealed that even vapers that vape all day, won’t inhale nearly as much diacetyl into their lungs as the unfortunate popcorn factory workers, it is still a harmful substance that needs to be avoided.

In addition to Diacetyl, there are two other two diketones: acetyl propionyl and acetoin. Although these aren’t as much of a concern as diacetyl, many health-conscious vapers still try and avoid them in their E liquid.

Is there a difference between e Juice and e liquid?

There is no difference between e Juice and E liquid aside from liquid being more popular in the UK and juice more so in the USA. To quote George Bernard Shaw, two countries separated by a common language.

Your character summed up by the flavour of your chose e liquid

Cigarette smokers and hand rollers were attached to a particular brand whereas vapers are flavour and then brand. Despite the myriad of flavours available in today’s market, the best selling E liquid flavour is menthol, closely followed by tobacco flavours such as Virginia or Classic.

Why vaping is better than smoking

There are three main reasons why:

1. Health. Public Health England, the UK’s national health body, conducted a widely-cited study concluding that vaping was 95 percent safer than smoking.

2. Financial. Switching to vaping will save the average smoker £3500.00 per year.

3. Social acceptance. Vaping is perceived as an (almost) odourless more healthy lifestyle choice when compared to smoking tobacco.

The rules for travelling with Vapes and e liquids

There are no restrictions in the UK, the USA or Europe regarding vaping, however, vaping products are banned in many parts of the Middle East, South America and Asia. In Singapore, it is illegal to bring any products into the country and the same applies in Taiwan so be sure to do your research before travelling.
